How Much Does Self-Publishing COST and How Much Do You EARN?

How Much Does Self-Publishing COST and How Much Do You EARN?

Hey there rebel!

From all the questions about self-publishing, these two are the most commonly asked and pervasive online:

  • how much does it cost?

  • how much will I earn?

If you’re asking yourself these questions, this is where I answer them.

Just watch the video and you’ll find out how to self-publish your book in the most affordable way and what to expect after.

This is not one of those things that will make you rich quick, but if you’re like me and you LOVE writing, I know you’re not doing it for the money.

And yet, it’s good to know what to expect…

How to Promote Your Book Without Feeling Slimy

How to Promote Your Book Without Feeling Slimy

Hey there rebel!

If you’re an author, you have to promote your book.

Marketing is a part of the process that you can’t simply forgo because it makes you feel uneasy. And trust me, none of us like feeling like we’re slimy salesmen pushing something on people all day.

However, with a simple mindset shift, you can really start to love it. And if you can’t love it, at least you can learn to tolerate book marketing.

So watch the video and see how to do that…

Dear Multipassionate Writer... I See You.

Dear Multipassionate Writer... I See You.

Hey there rebel!

We are all writers around here.

But what if we’re not just writers? What if we have a ton of passions and we don’t know how to balance them? What if we jump into a new interest every other month and the result is a bunch of scattered effort?

Certainly not enough to finish anything.

Welcome to being a multipassionate writer!!!

I have spent many years being one and working as one, so I see you, and I would love to talk to you, see what you’re struggling with.

If you’re a multipassionate writer, let me know…

How to Self-Publish Your Book For FREE in 2020 (Unpopular Opinion)

How to Self-Publish Your Book For FREE in 2020 (Unpopular Opinion)

Hey there rebel!

I bet you’re following a lot of indie authors, a lot of author channels, and so on, and you know that they always hire professional editors, designers, etc.

And that’s beautiful! Making sure your book is the best quality is great.

However… a well-off youtuber can’t really recommend that to a broke mom of five who can barely make ends meet because that mom’s first book is not going to make any money, so what is she supposed to do? Take out a loan? Amidst a pandemic? I don’t think so…

She might as well forget about publishing then - the agents reject her, the self-publishing gurus reject her, she might as well let go of that dream.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Listen, I also have a ZERO BUDGET because I am saving up for rent and life things, so I don’t have any money for self-publishing either…

What It's Like to Write 25,000 Words in 15 Hours - Don't Do It!!!

What It's Like to Write 25,000 Words in 15 Hours - Don't Do It!!!

Hey there rebel!

You know me, I’m kind of bonkers…

So when I say, oh you know, I wrote 25,000 words in 15 hours, no big deal. You’ll probably believe me, and then you’ll have me committed.

Truthfully, I do NOT recommend writing so much in so little time, but you’ll see why I did it and what happened in the video…

For now, I’ll just say:

Every writer has their own unique writing process, and you don’t need to write in any particular way to be a “real writer.” Any writing process that you have is legit and if it works for you, that’s perfect.

Keep writing YOUR WAY. This is mine…

This Is Proof That You Shouldn't Be Only on ONE Social Media Platform

This Is Proof That You Shouldn't Be Only on ONE Social Media Platform

Hey there rebel!

If you’ve been following me a while, you know that I’ve been preaching that one or two social media channels are enough for you to grow.

But I was wrong…

When you put all of your eggs and all of your effort into one place, you risk getting kicked out or banned, and basically, you’re out of business.

This can happen with Youtube, with Amazon, with any platform.

And it happened to me… with twitter. The social media platform that I have been in love with for about a decade, where I grew my account to up to 60,000 followers and where I lived and tweeted every day.

Until I got locked out of twitter, stupidly, and now that I have no support - they’re ignoring me - who knows when I’ll be back on twitter.

Take a lesson from this experience - don’t just put your books in one place, your business on one platform, etc. Make sure that your online presence is dispersed, so if one place kicks you out, you can lean on another.

Hope to see you on twitter soon. One day…

SCAM ALERT: Ghost Writers Selling PLAGIARIZED Work to Self-Published Authors

SCAM ALERT: Ghost Writers Selling PLAGIARIZED Work to Self-Published Authors

Hey there rebel!

So I think I promised this video a while ago…

Basically, when I experiment, I try a LOT of different things, and that includes working with ghost writers for that one experiment, and so I went on Fiverr, I found the cheapest, and of course they’d turn out to be scammers.

Long story short, there are some Nigerian ghost writers on Fiverr who offer erotic stories and blog articles for cheap and in exchange they will give you PLAGIARIZED work, and when you use a plagiarism checker, THEY PASS because the scammers used a tool called Article Buddy to make your content appear original to the checkers. So literally, right now there could be a ton of authors with plagiarized stories and articles on Amazon and their blogs.

And they don’t know it… and that’s disgusting…

All of my suggestions are based on years of helping creative people do this and on the way I approach anything - this is just a general blueprint you can follow, but the specifics are up to you - your strengths, preferences, personality. Just choose what works for YOU and stick with it.

Hope this helps you to grow your platform!!!

When can you call yourself a writer? How about an author? My answer.

When can you call yourself a writer? How about an author? My answer.

Hey there rebel.

I wanted to address this topic because I see people talk about this a lot and newbie writers or authors feeling insecure about it.

Because for some reason some writers/authors out there feel like it’s appropriate to sit on their high horses and judge the rest of us.

First of all, it’s NOT appropriate to judge anyone’s journey.

And second of all, if you write, you ARE a writer.

As for the word author… there are different opinions, so check out my video to see what my opinion is, and always remember:

The only “correct way” is YOUR WAY.
