5 Book Covers I've Designed for My Clients

5 Book Covers I've Designed for My Clients - by Violeta Nedkova

Hey there rebel!

I am so excited to share some of my recent book cover designs with you. :)

So I’ve had the privilege of working with these people and they’re super serious about their work, so it was a pleasure working with them all. You should check out their work because they’re awesome humans.

And because we should all read more indie books. Yeah?

1. Awakening by E. J. Dawson

Awakening by E. J. Dawson

Working on this beauty was no easy thing, let me tell ya. At first I got the concept completely wrong, but E. J. was kind enough to explain that she needed something different, so I tried again, and this is the result. E. J. loves it now. :)

It’s also a part of a trilogy, so stay tuned!

About the book: Ayla is a villain. With a gift that allows her to see when anyone will die, she’s remorseless in her profession as the perfect assassin. When she wakes up in a cryo-tank three thousand years in the future, and no idea how she came to be there, all that matters is survival… [READ MORE]

2. And Then We Vanish by D. H. Schleicher

And Then We Vanish by D. H. Schleicher

D. H. was super easy to work with because they had very specific requirements right from the start. As soon as I read them, I knew what they wanted, and that’s amazing in a client because it makes my job easier. There was a little snafu at the last moment about fonts (my fault), but we fixed it pretty quickly.

Overall this one was a total pleasure.

About the book:

Eleven twisting tales curated from nearly a decade of work. In these stories we encounter characters who are victims of their own poor decisions and of chance, like a young boy under the threat of a local kidnapping scare who starts to realize the truth about himself and his father one fateful Halloween, a woman in the midst of a midlife crisis whose dog keeps running away from her... 3. The Swordsman’s Lament by G. M. White

The Swordsman’s Lament by G. M. White

Very moody, eh? This was actually done in a different way before, but we ended up doing it all over again because G. M. insisted they had a good idea and they were right! It’s amazing what a few adjustments can do for a cover - it was okay before, but now it’s almost majestic! Loved working on it.

About the book:

When a prince is murdered, a legendary swordsman stands accused.

The King wants blood . . .

and loyalty counts for nothing. [READ MORE]

4. The Light Touch of Liberty by Aisling Maria Cronin

The Light Touch of Liberty by Aisling Maria Cronin

I had so many ideas about this, and most were inspired by some other cool modern book cover designs with fairy wings and stuff, so this particular design was a total fluke and came out of the nowhere, but Aisling ended up loving it. Haha.

Sometimes you just surprise yourself.

About the book: Aisling Maria Cronin's first anthology celebrates people who dare to dream courageously, ask difficult questions and fearlessly speak their truth. It acknowledges what a revolutionary act it is to stand tall in a world that still seeks to hold many people down. It is a celebration of eternity, fortitude, friendship and 'the stubbornly irrational human heart. [READ MORE]

5. Transpire Together by Mercy Zephyr

Transpire Together by Mercy Zephyr

Sometimes you come across people who know EXACTLY what they want, down to the last comma or visual element. Mercy is one of those people. She tirelessly exchanges ideas with me and I didn’t mind because I wanted her to get exactly what she wanted. In the end, she was happy, and for me, as a professional designer, it’s truly satisfying to know your client is happy with what you’ve made.

About the book:

Her intimately familiar voice whispered softly in his ear, "Pretend you know me." Transpire Together is a sweet, clean contemporary second chance romance novel with hidden identity elements, set in small town Southeastern Alaska in 2018 during the Anchorage bathroom bill fight. [READ MORE]
