To be clear, the cover alone will not land you on the best-seller lists, but it has to be in combination with good marketing.

A lot of work and brainstorming has gone into this cover and Violeta has beengreat to work with.

First she sent me a list of questions to answer, things about the book, what sort of covers did I like or not like, all manner of things so that she could get a feel for not only what I would like but what would serve the book. I also set up a Pinterest board with some of my favourite book covers and sent her the link to that, along with a mood board I started when I first came up with the idea for this book. Then she sent me four different concepts which, following some feedback, I narrowed down to one. We then went back and forth for the last month making little tweaks and changes and I feel like we've arrived at a design that sits well in the genre, has both classic and modern touches, and will stand out well amongst its competitors!

She has been brilliant to work with, flexible, responding to requests quickly, and created a beautiful cover that we can both be very proud of. I look forward to working with her again in the future

Having worked with Violeta previously to design the cover for my novel, The Swordsman’s Lament, I knew I had to work with her again when it came time to sort out the cover design for its prequel novella, The Swordsman’s Intent. I was keen to carry over some of the design features, fonts etc, so that the new cover would sit well alongside the first. After some discussion and returning to the mood board I’d created for my first novel she quickly came back with some concepts.
