Hey there rebel!

My name is Violeta and among other things, I make eye-catching and one-of-a-kind book covers for indie authors. :)

I’m a writer myself, and if you’re about to self-publish a book, then I’m in awe of you because I know how much work and discipline it takes. I also believe that a book cover can make or break a book, especially for indie authors, which is why I am in love with the art form and why I want to help you have the success you seek.

I know you're creative and you want to design your own book cover, but trust me, if you don't have the experience and training, you'll fail and your sales will fail, so trust the professionals. Besides, wouldn’t it be such a relief to outsource this part to someone else?!

So if you want a book cover tailor-made for your story, you can order one today, and you’ll have it ready by launch time.

disclaimer

Remember to book your spot early, at least 3 months prior your launch. This will give you 2 months on the waiting queue and 1 month of making the cover.

the design process

(This process takes anything from a month to three months, depending on how fast and effective we communicate, so please be mindful of the waitlist and your deadlines when you book your spot.)

Step 1: The Questions

When you book your spot - by paying the deposit - I will send you an email with about a dozen questions about your book. You will give me detailed answers, so I can create the best book cover for your story.

The questions range from what your story is about, what kind of covers you like, the symbols and motifs in your story, what genre it is, what mood, etc.

Step 2: First Concepts

Once we start, it will take me about 7 days to brainstorm and execute 2 or 3 original design concepts based on your answers, and you’ll be able to choose one of the designs, and we can continue from there.

Step 3: Adjustments

Once you have chosen the design, you can ask for any adjustments at this point - changes in font, colors, any images you don’t like, etc. This kind of back and forth is done via email and when you have no more adjustment requests, we can lock the design of the ebook cover.

You can ask for any adjustments at this point, don’t be shy to ask about anything that occurs to you, and I’ll probably be able to do it for you.

Step 4: Paperback Cover

So we have the ebook cover, but we don’t have the paperback cover yet. For this sk you for:

  • a cover template

  • a blurb/summary for the back

  • author bio and photo (if applicable)

  • book reviews if you have any

  • any logos, barcode, etc.

Once I have these, I can present you with a design and this time you can ask for more minor adjustments, but no changes will be made on the eboek cover design, just the parts on the spine and back.

Step 5: Promo Banners

The promotional book banners are like ads you can put up on all of your social media channels to announce your book’s launch, discounts, etc. I’ll make those, too.

Step 6: Final Fee, Review, Etc.

Once you’re 100% happy with everything, I’ll just ask that you pay the final fee, leave me a review, and VOILA:

You have your amazing book cover done. :)

What clients say:

The Swordsman's Lament bt G. M. White, Book Cover Design by Violeta Nedkova

A lot of work and brainstorming has gone into this cover and Violeta has been great to work with.

She’s been flexible, responding to requests quickly, and created a beautiful cover that we can both be very proud of. I look forward to working with her again.

A Shadow Stained in Blood by Ichabod Ebenezer, Book Cover Design by Violeta Nedkova

What Violeta came up with reflected the time period, the character, and the mood of my book, and was a true delight to see. She went above and beyond, getting me related artwork for the book interior and to help promote on multiple social networks.

Behind the Veil by E J Dawson, Book Cover Design by Violeta Nedkova

Five Stars!

What really struck me with Violeta was not just her quick times but her ability to go beyond. I had settled on the cover, and was happy, and she came back to me and said; wait, I can make it better. And she did. She went above and beyond to make it all it could be. Those actions speak for themselves the quality not just as a designer but as a person.

First of Their Kind by C.D. Tavenor, Book Cover Design by Violeta Nedkova

As an author publishing their first novel on Amazon, Violeta took my thoughts and transformed them into an image worthy of First of Their Kind. She works quickly and efficiently, and I encourage everyone to consider her as their next artist. She'll exceed expectations. I've received nothing but praise so far for the cover of First of Their Kind, all thanks to Violeta.

Book Cover Design by Violeta Nedkova

Violeta sent me different mock designs which if I could have I would have used them all, they were all fantastic. But the outcome was 100% perfect. I couldn't have pictured the cover any better myself. One of the most friendly positive people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I will definitely be using Violeta for the entire book series.

The+Light+Touch+of+Liberty+by+Aisling+Maria+Cronin, Book Cover Design by Violeta Nedkova

Violeta is an amazing designer – she took all of my ideas on board, but ended up creating a cover for my anthology that was so much better than anything I had envisioned.

As a first-time self published author, I was unsure of how the entire process worked, but she was always patient, professional and wonderful to work with.

Will I be the sole owner of my cover?

Of course! Nobody else will have your cover, ever. Once you buy it, it’s yours forever, and I won’t make anything similar again either. There are some shady people out there who’ll sell their premade designs multiple times, but I don’t see how this is helpful to anyone. Your design should be unique.

Do you make paperback covers?

Absolutely. :)

Do you do illustrations?

No, I don’t do illustrated covers, unless you provide the illustration.

Do you make non-fiction book covers?

Not generally, but if you want one, I’ll make it! I’m excited to try.

Can I bring my own images?

You don’t have to, but if you absolutely need a specific image in your design, then you can let me find it OR bring your own, as long as it’s high resolution and you have the right to be using it for commercial purposes.

Can I request changes?

Yes, you can request any kind of changes to your cover, and that’s included in the price. Don’t worry about whether I can do it or not, just ask for what you want and I’ll let you know if it’s possible. Generally speaking, positioning, resizing, changing fonts and colors is all doable. Sometimes even more.

Do I need to pay extra for licenses?

Nope, I pay for all the fonts and photos. The only thing you might have to pay for eventually is if your book runs over 500,000 sales and you have a special photo in your cover that requires an extended license, of which I’ll let you know.

Do I need to worry about copyright?

Your designer has to worry about that, not you. I use both 100% free photos and fonts AND pay for some extra-special fonts and photos (for example, photos of recognizable faces and places you need permission for), but I always double check if I have the right to use the font or image I’m using for your cover.

What if I have a deadline?

You’re going to have to tell me about your deadline and I’ll work with it, but bear in mind that you might be on the waiting queue about a month and then add another couple of weeks (minimum) for the making of your cover, and you’re looking at booking your sport at least a month and a half in advance.

So no last minute requests, okay? I could possibly help you with a last-minute request, but there’s a charge for it - it’s $50 on top of everything else.

What software do you use?

Photoshop. I don’t use any templates or programs that make ready covers, I actually enjoy making designs from scratch. So don’t worry, what you get is a completely original design from my brain to your hands. Ha.

What’s it like to work with you?

Honestly, I am just super laid-back and I’m totally flexible with projects and clients. I adjust to each situation and person, and go from there.

I’m also a perfectionist so you know your design will be good.
